The local judo club travelled to Winnipeg last weekend to compete in the 18th Inner City Judo Open and brought back a gold medal and a silver one.
Alex Ricordo Rosalina, who was feeling slightly under-the-weather, finished the day with a 2-2 record.
“He is so technical and good,” enthused Bob Dobransky. “He would have fought a lot better if he was feeling better but second place isn’t bad.”
Rosalina competed in the senior men (15 years +), under-81 kg, and lost after about three-and-a-half minutes to Yuri Datsky.
Dobransky, who competed in the juvenile men, under-40 kg division brought home a gold medal after defeating Shiraz Musaddig.
