Rainy River OPP are investigating a fatal marine accident that claimed the life of a Fort Frances man on Lake of the Woods near Morson on Friday.
Larry Rose, 54, was found near his boat in the water that evening after he was reported long overdue coming off the lake, police said.
Searchers tried to resuscitate him at the scene but were unsuccessful, they added.
Foul play is not suspected, police said, following a post-mortem examination Monday morning.
No other details were released.
In other police news, Fort Frances OPP are investigating several broken windows of businesses and a church. The damage occurred sometime between Friday evening and early Monday.
Emo OPP were advised Saturday morning of a motor home that was on fire on Cedar Narrows Road. The owner tried to start his 1973 vehicle but there a malfunction, resulting in a fire, police said.
The motor home was destroyed but no injuries were reported.
