Families of St. Michael’s School students are invited there tomorrow (Jan. 27) to celebrate Family Literacy Day.
The purpose of Family Literacy Day is to celebrate adults and children reading and learning together this day and throughout the year.
This year’s theme is “Play for Literacy.”
Various games and activities will be set up and staged by staff throughout the school.
Visitors should meet with students in the gym at 11 a.m. Then after a brief presentation, students will be divided into groups which will feature members from all grades.
Students then will rotate through classrooms at 15-minute intervals until 12:40 p.m.
Families also are welcome to stay and have lunch with their child until 1 p.m.
There will be door prizes, as well as refreshments provided by the school council.
Anyone with questions about Family Literacy Day is asked to contact Derek Jones at 274-9232 (ext. 1455) or John Cousineau at 274-9232 (ext. 1430).
