Limited free tickets for acrobat show

In a rare circumstance, the Border Concert Association will be opening one of its seasonal concerts to 150 lucky individuals.
On a first-come, first-served basis, 150 free tickets will be available for the presentation of “Circus INcognitus,” featuring the one-man acrobat show of Jamie Adkins, on Sunday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Backus Auditorium over in International Falls.
Tickets were available starting at noon today (Feb. 26) at the Falls Public Library.
The Arrowhead Library System is credited for the free tickets to this concert. Attendance outside of BCA’s regular membership usually is not possible.
The libraries thought it a good idea to use legacy funds to encourage attendance at performances in the region—and the Border Concert Association is one of those participating.
The gesture also has given seats to performances in Virginia, Hibbing, Grand Rapids, and Duluth.
The timing is perfect since this particular performance is great for families, say BCA directors.
Adkins’ zany but highly-skillful acts in the air include catching grapes on a fork, popping ping-pong balls, walking on ropes, and juggling—not to forget his main feats of balance and imbalance.
The presentation is appropriate for children of all ages.
“Though Mr. Adkins’ best routines draw ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs,’ he is just as successful at drawing laughs,” the N.Y. Times wrote.
It is the third show in the Border Concert Association’s 2009/10 series, which normally is open only to those who purchase season tickets.
Those who get the free tickets must present them at the door on the evening of the show.
This endeavour was funded, in part or in whole, with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on Nov. 4, 2008, which dedicated funding to preserve Minnesota’s arts and cultural heritage.
