With summer’s end drawing near, the Fort Frances Public Library has decided to hold another car rally adventure Thursday, Aug., 23 to cap off a summer of fun with a fundraising bang.
“We figured because everyone had so much fun last time this would be a great way to end the summer fundraising leg,” said children’s librarian Andrea Avis.
This time around the event will also include a spaghetti dinner at the Little Beaver Snow Park prior to the race start time.
The “Pasta Party” will begin at 6 p.m. and conclude around 11 p.m. It will be come-and-go as you please with all proceeds to benefit “The Building for the Future” fundraising campaign.
Anyone can attend the dinner even if they are not participating in the car rally portion of the fundraiser. The cost is $10 per plate and includes spaghetti, salad, dessert, and beverage.
As for the car rally adventure, after the dinner teams will be sent off to different locations around the district in search of clues which will lead them to their final destination.
Avis said the stations will be different from last time as they have more businesses involved this time around.
“We are changing it up a bit so people who participated in the event this spring will be surprised,” noted Avis.
To register a team of two-four people call the library at 274-9870. There is a $50 registration fee per team, which includes the spaghetti dinner for all team members.
Teams are also encouraged to collect $100 in pledges to assist in the new library campaign. “We hope to get a lot of people out and keep the fundraising rolling for our new library,” she said.
