Lewis stays on as DSSAB chair

The Rainy River District Social Services Administration Board chose its chair and vice-chair for 2009 at its regular monthly meeting here last night.
Returning for his third year as chair is Michael Lewis, who was acclaimed.
Lewis represents the unincorporated areas in the eastern part of Rainy River District.
Meanwhile, Sharon Tibbs, who represents the Town of Fort Frances on the board, was acclaimed as vice-chair for the coming year.
There also is a new face on the board Ross Donaldson took over from Jim Belluz to represent La Vallee Township.
Also last night, CAO Donna Dittaro presented the board with the 2008 annual report, including a budget summary and highlighting what has happened over the past year with DSSAB programs, such as land ambulance, Child Care/Best Start, the Consolidated Homelessness Prevention Program, National Child Benefit Strategy, “Ontario Works,” and social housing.
The next meeting of the local DSSAB will be held Feb. 19.
