Rod Davis of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29, helps raise the poppy flag at the civic centre Friday, Oct. 29. The legion has launched its annual poppy campaign leading up to Remembrance Day on Nov. 11. Poppies are available at various locations around town, with all funds providing financial support for veterans. The iconic poppy is celebrating its 100th anniversary as Canada’s symbol of remembrance this year.
