CJ Contracting is on the express elevator up the standings.
Mired in last place in the men’s division of the Borderland Soccer League just two weeks ago, CJ has moved into a tie for second thanks to a seven-game unbeaten streak.
Their latest win was a 3-1 triumph over first-place Centra Pipelines last night.
Connor Bujold, Kevin Metke, and Ian Jodoin all scored for CJ (7-5-2), who now sit even in points with Manitou Forest Products (5-4-2), although the latter does hold three games in hand.
Alex Gustafson earned the win in goal over Tyler Hamm.
Nico Kooistra netted the lone tally for Centra (7-4), which lost for the first time in three games.
The league resumes play Monday at 7 p.m. with CJ facing last-place Pharmasave (4-10).
Meanwhile, La Place Rendez-Vous/Taggs (4-2-1) will conclude its regular-season series against Al’s Racquet Stringing (2-4-1) in women’s division play that evening.
