The LaVerendrye General Hospital Auxiliary held their first in person meeting on Nov 1, 2021. Irene Laing was installed as president for the remainder of the 2021-2022 year. We are looking forward to be able to actively fundraise in the upcoming year. In anticipation of this, the Auxiliary has pledged $70,000 toward the Picture This Campaign.
Susan Sieders and Jan Beazley have taken over the management of the Gift Shop. It is open Monday to Friday from 12 noon to 3:30. New merchandise has been brought in and the public is welcome in the shop. Masks must be worn. Volunteers are always welcome. Updates to the shop can be found on our Facebook page.
Membership renewals have been sent out for the 2021-22 year. If you did not receive a reminder you can pick up a form at the gift shop or contact Marnie Cumming 274-3368. Membership is $12.00 per year or the equivalent of one dollar per month. The Auxiliary is always looking for new members and new ideas on how to raise funds for our local hospital. There are many opportunities to volunteer and give back to your community. Currently the Auxiliary is actively looking for a volunteer to coordinate the lobby pull ticket campaign.
A Christmas luncheon is planned for Monday December 13 at 12 noon at the Knox United Church. Tickets will be $15, must be purchased in advance and will be available between Friday Nov 26 and Friday Dec 10 at Pharmasave, Shoppers or the hospital gift shop. Proof of vaccination and Covid mandates are required. As a kickoff to our fundraising, we will have raffle tickets for two Christmas baskets. We are encouraging any members, or anyone who is interested in finding out more about the auxiliary and what we do to attend.
