Lake levels begin to stabilize

The water level of Rainy Lake has largely stabilized, according to Environment Canada data.

Rainy Lake is currently 339.307 metres, and has remained between 339.300 m and 339.310 m since June 7.

According to the National Weather Service, out of Duluth, MN, the lake is expected to remain at current levels, plus or minus 0.6 inches, depending on precipitation. It is expected to reach its peak by the end of this week, unless significant rainfall occurs.

Rainy Lake level is 1113.2 ft (339.3m), 22 inches (56 cm) above the 2014 peak and 3 inches above the previous record set in 1950.
