Kraft mill down for maintenance

As annual maintenance and repairs continue at the kraft mill, local mill manager John Harrison said things have been going smoothly so far.
“We’re on schedule,” he noted this morning. “We should be starting back up on Sept. 11.”^The kraft mill was shut down last Friday for its annual late-summer maintenance.
“We have a lot of repairs, things discovered during our regular inspections. And there’s the cleaning.
So we’ve been busy,” Harrison noted.
He added the shutdown hasn’t necessarily meant any downtime for employees.
“We have pretty much everybody working. There’s an awful lot of activity going on—besides the maintenance—on the operational side of things,” Harrison said.
