Knox ranking on rise

Don’t stop voting over the weekend.
That’s the message Knox United Church’s renewal fundraising committee is pushing to those who’ve been diligently supporting the Aviva Community Fund Challenge.
As of press time today, the local church sat in 11th place in its category in the semi-final round.
It needs to at least finish in the top 15 to move on to the final one and a shot at the $100,000 grand prize.
“Make sure you vote over the weekend,” urged Bill Gushulak.
“That’s normally when we see some of the other ones lose a little momentum because people are voting from work,” he noted.
“We’re in 11th place, and to maintain that over the weekend would be tremendous,” Gushulak added.
“But we can only do it if people continue voting,” he stressed.
Current supporters, as well as any new ones, can vote online at www.avivacommunityfund.org/ideas/acf19619
People can vote once a day per e-mail address until Dec. 10.
The church requires funding in order to make the building more accessible.
It is working to install an elevator and barrier-free washrooms, with a price tag of about $160,000.
