It’s make-or-break time for the Knox Renewal Project, which is in the midst of an online voting contest to qualify for a chance to win funds to install an elevator there.
The public is reminded to vote now at www.avivacommunityfund.org/ideas/acf19056—and keep voting daily right through Nov. 25.
As of press time today, the project had 1,036 votes and 433 supporters.
Although Knox jumped from 22nd to 20th place as of this morning, “the vote gap between us and the top 10 is widening by the day,” said Bill Gushulak, who is spearheading the campaign to raise funds for the elevator with his wife, Mary Jane.
“There’s still time to catch up but we need to act quickly,” he stressed.
“The key message is that the initial vote supporters make is important, but the subsequent votes they make each day are absolutely crucial to our success,” Gushulak explained.
“Some of the other projects across the country are acquiring those daily votes from their supporters,” he noted.
For those who would like to be reminded to vote, Gushulak said Lisa Brockie has offered to have a daily reminder sent to people’s e-mail inbox, which has proven to be effective.
“This is available to anyone else that requests it,” he remarked.
“Simply e-mail lbrockie@yahoo.com and she’ll set it up.”
Gushulak also noted that workplaces which have a bulletin board, where they can post a flyer about the Knox Renewal Project, are urged to hang up voting information about it.
E-mail knoxrenewal@gmail.com to request flyers and leaflets—and help spread the word about this project.
