Jason Kabel is the newest member of the town’s management team after council approved the appointment at yesterday’s budget meeting.
Effective April, 9, Kabel will take on the duties of Community Services manager, with the exception of emergency services, which will be designated to CAO Mark McCaig.
Current Community Services manager George Bell is retiring after 18 years of service to the town.
“The Town of Fort Frances believes that Jason’s people skills, enthusiasm, educational background, and integrity will be a great asset to the corporation,” McCaig said in a press release.
Kabel attended Bemidji State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education degrees.
He currently is working on his Master of Business Administration degree.
Kabel started his career as a teacher at Fort Frances High School, then relocated to Winnipeg, where he worked as general manager at ClearOption Technologies.
He currently sits on the board of directors at Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc. and also is a member of the Committee of Adjustment for the town.
Kabel lives here with his wife, Barb, and three children.
