‘Just Imagine’ goal less than $200,000

Another $59,000 was raised in one week, which means the “Just Imagine” campaign now needs less than $200,000 to reach its goal of $1.5 million for the purchase of a CT Scanner at La Verendrye Hospital here.
“District residents are making this happen,” said campaign chair Deane Cunningham. “The gifts just keep coming in and we are extremely grateful.
“I’m proud to be a citizen of the Rainy River District,” he enthused.
The campaign was given a boost late last week from the dentists at the Fort Frances Dental Centre and Emo Dental Centre, who gave a combined gift of $20,000 to support the campaign.
“Dr. Brent Danylchuk called John McTaggart, who is a campaign volunteer, and told him about the gift,” noted Teresa Hazel, director of the Riverside Foundation for Health Care.
“John was just thrilled, as was I,” added Hazel. “It’s a very generous gift—just awesome!”
Campaign organizers have set their sights on raising $1.5 million by the end of February and need continued support to make it happen.
“We encourage everyone to give whatever they can,” said Hazel. “All gifts, whether large or small, will help us get to our goal!”
