Fort Frances OPP and the Coroner’s Office are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Dylan Wreggitt, 21, of Atikokan.
Wreggitt was found unresponsive in his cell at the Fort Frances Jail in the early-morning hours of Saturday.
CPR was started by the jail staff immediately and Wreggitt was taken to La Verendrye Hospital.
Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
A post-mortem examination was conducted yesterday at Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora.
Members of the North West Region Forensic Identification Unit and the North West Region Crime Unit are assisting with the investigation, which is continuing under the direction of the Coroner’s Office.
