Jacques Fafard was born and raised in Saskatchewan. He graduated from Regina Teachers’ College in 1960 and taught for three years in a small French community in southwestern Saskatchewan.
He moved to Ontario in 1963 and, after two years, was employed by the Northwest Catholic District School Board, where he taught for 35 years. His various positions for the board included French as a Second Language teacher and principal.
He also taught FSL at Confederation College.
Jacques has many years of experience at the festival, with his classes participating in French choral speaking almost annually.
He also coached several individual students who participated in the festival.
Jacques retired from teaching in 1994 and now lives in Keewatin, Ont.
