Internet down for some users

It appears Sunday’s derailment of a CN freight train east of here has something to do with interrupted Internet service in town.
Internet service has been down for Shaw and Vianet customers in Fort Frances since sometime between 9:30-10 p.m. yesterday.
“Looks it is a fibre cut due to the unfortunate train derailment,” Shaw said, communicating through its Shaw Help Twitter feed.
“We’ll certainly be in the area to get this resolved.”
There was no estimate, as of press time today, as to when the problem would be fixed.
Customers who call the company get a recording saying: “Attention Shaw customers. Customers in the Fort Frances area are currently experiencing a disruption in Internet and video on demand services.
“Technicians are aware of the issue and will have it resolved as soon as possible.”
Customers of other Internet service providers, such as Bell and TBayTel, have not been affected by the interruption.
