‘Ink Spotz’ open for business

Seeing a market that was somewhat under-serviced in the area, Darlyss and Scott Krienke-Turvey have opened the doors to their new business—“Ink Spotz Apparel+”—at 279 Scott St.
“It’s something I always wanted to do so when the opportunity came, we said let’s go for it,” noted Darlyss Krienke-Turvey, who mostly focuses on the design aspect while her husband takes care of the printing.
She stressed their screen printing business will have some of the most advanced applications in the area.
“It’s really neat when you create something unique and then see it on a T-shirt,” Krienke-Turvey remarked.
She added screen printing is a very common method of cresting apparel, but they will be using the method of dye sublimation to transfer graphics onto items, as well.
“We will be using only the finest quality plastisol inks, which will ensure vibrant colour and will not crack, chip, or fade,” she pledged.
“Even after hundreds of washes, screen printed shirts will not lose their appeal.”
Krienke-Turvey noted their goal is to provide excellent products and top-notch customer service.
“We’ve repeatedly been disappointed with locally-produced or imported screen printing, so we’re here to rectify it,” echoed Scott Krienke-Turvey.
“We’re both very picky people,” his wife added. “If we’re not happy with something, it’s not going out the door.”
They promised to give their very best.
“We plan to build a reputation for exceeding our customers’ expectations and striving to make their marketing effort a great success,” said Darlyss Krienke-Turvey, noting they will offer amazing values and quick turnaround times.
“Assuming we have the inventory of shirts, we could have items ready in a matter of hours,” Scott Krienke-Turvey said, adding that if it was a repeat order, it likely could be ready in just minutes.
Since they can offer lower prices on bulk quantities, the couple is expecting their target market to be for events and groups, such as team sports, church groups, school functions, bachelor or bachelorette parties, family reunions, and other special events.
And they can personalize everything from shirts, shorts, and jackets to bags, towels, aprons, and more.
“Ink Spotz Apparel+” uses natural and biodegradable products in an effort to be environmentally responsible.
“Plus we will design and customize each order to client specifications,” Darlyss Krienke-Turvey stressed, saying customers also can supply their own artwork or they can have their current design revamped.
While they do most of the screen printing in house, Scott Krienke-Turvey said they also have access to several quality companies for things they can’t produce—at better prices then can be found anywhere else.
“Ink Spotz Apparel+” also is a retail store, and there are many products people can stop in and purchase.
“And if someone has an idea of something they’d like to see on a T-shirt, let us know,” invited Darlyss Krienke-Turvey.
“We’re crazy enough to give it a try.”
She indicated they also renovated the space to give it a unique interior.
“We wanted to do something that would make people notice,” reasoned Scott Krienke-Turvey. “We wanted it to look different.
“There has been so many businesses in and out of here lately, we want to be known for being here.
“We’re not going anywhere,” he vowed.
They said since opening their doors Sept. 27, the new business has received plenty of attention.
“We’ve had a lot of inquiries. It’s been positive,” Darlyss Krienke-Turvey enthused.
“We’re just really hoping that people will turn out locally and see that we are here now.”
“Ink Spotz Apparel+” is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturdays from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and by appointment.
