Information session postponed

An information session, entitled “Exploring Partnerships, Business Development and Financing,” has been postponed until April 17-18 due to a death at Couchiching.
The session, organized by the Rainy River Future Development Corp. and Couchiching First Nations Economic Development Commission, was supposed to run today and tomorrow at the Couchiching Bingo Palace.
But organizers said the funeral luncheon should take place instead.
“It’s best for the community,” organizer Christine Jourdain said, adding she hoped all the presenters would be able to reschedule.
Organizers also expect to add more speakers for next month’s session.
The conference aims to address concerns and issues relating to economic development, with speakers from organizations such as Aboriginal Business Canada, FedNor, the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines, Human Resources, and Indian and Northern Affairs.
