In light of recent guidance from the Province on phasing-in a gradual approach to resumption of visits, Riverside has updated our Acute Care Visitation procedure.
Visiting will continue to be restricted at Riverside, however, acute in-patient visitations within our hospital facilities will commence on Tuesday, August 4, 2020.
Patients will be able to designate one (1) family member, friend or caregiver as their sole in-hospital visitor. This designated visitor will be allowed to visit in the patient’s hospital room one time per day between the hours of 3:30pm – 6:30pm.
Visitors will be screened every time they come to the hospital. To protect everyone, visitors will be given a medical grade procedure mask upon arrival and must wear this mask at all times in the hospital. Visitors are required to clean their hands with sanitizer when entering the facility and when entering and exiting a patient’s room and maintain two metres (6 feet) between themselves and the patient at all times during their visit.
“We recognize that visitation restrictions during this pandemic have been really tough on our patients and their families, and we are pleased to announce this new update allowing for in-hospital visits.” stated Julie Loveday, Vice President of Clinical Services & CNE. “We thank the public in advance for your support, understanding and patience as we resume visiting while preventing the spread of infectious diseases.”
Riverside remains committed to ensuring a safe environment for everyone entering our hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
