Icebox Radio Theater is proud to present the classic Edgar Allen Poe story, “The Fall of the House of Usher,” on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Backus Community Center in International Falls.
Admission will be by a free-will donation, and a cash bar provided by the Borealis Bards.
This production of “The Fall of the House of Usher” is an original adaptation of the classic tale of terror, with script by IBRT artistic director Jeffrey Adams.
The production also will feature “Spectacle Sound Effects,” a theatrical take on the radio theater staple that will feature actual rock slides, spooky sounds from a disassembled piano, and the shrieking metal of a rusted tomb door.
In addition to “Usher,” there will be some lighter fair with another a dramatic reading of the classic story (title to be announced) and a Hallowe’en-themed instalment of the Woody’s Bait Shop comedy series.
This will be the second instalment of the IBRT’s new podcast series, “Mystery on the Air,” which adapts classic tales of mystery and suspense for radio theater.
This episode will be the first to be presented before a live audience, and will be streamed live over the internet for listeners around the world.
