St. Michael’s School principal Brendan Hyatt is expected to be appointed as assistant superintendent of education for the Northwest Catholic District School Board at tonight’s meeting.
The position, which will replace the role of Student Success leader David Sharp when he retires this year, will be effective Aug. 27, 2012.
The recommendation to confirm that appointment is set to be made following the in-camera session of tonight’s meeting.
Also at tonight’s meeting, which will be held via videoconference starting at 6:30 p.m. at St. Francis School, the board will approve the appointment of Cherie Coulombe to the Special Education Advisory Committee for the remainder of the term of office.
The board also will present a Recognition of Excellence to St. Patrick’s School in Atikokan for its “Playground Activity Leaders in Schools (PALS)” program.
Teacher Shawn Minor, along with PALS leaders Jaylin Eckstrom, Anya Grant, Kaitlyn Gouliquer, Candra Urbanowicz, Katelyn Bjorkman, Makyla Everett, Ally Warren, Sam Ribey, Kyla Morin, Blade Lemieux, Kaya Hogan, Destinee Lafond, and Callie Degagne, will be recognized for their participation in the program.
