The Huffman Court subdivision here has been hopping lately.
Of the 16 lots once available, only two remain unsold, Fort Frances clerk Lisa Slomke told the Times.
A total of 11 lots have been sold and ownership transferred while three have a signed agreement of purchase and sale, she noted.
“I am very optimistic that the final two lots will sell in the next few months,” Slomke said.
“They are going fast,” she warned. “If someone is considering making a purchase, they should do it before the subdivision is full.”
Slomke said two of the homes at Huffman Court are being lived in while the other two houses there are partially built and potentially could have full occupancy before the end of summer.
Work on a fifth lot is just getting underway, added Slomke, and she’s hopeful at least one more will start digging in the near future.

As reported earlier this spring, town council could be looking at another subdivision in the near future.
As part of the town’s strategic plan, council and administration has begun examining where the next subdivision development for the community may be located.
Meanwhile, work is nearing completion on the Edgewood Townhomes on Front Street.
Developer Syncor Contracting Inc. worked on the interiors over the winter, and more recently has been doing work on the exterior, company spokesperson Len Smart told the Times.
The fencing and fascia should be complete by the end of this week, and the driveways will be finished once the frost is out of the ground, he noted.
“There is already one couple living in their unit and they love it,” Smart enthused.
“They are particularly impressed with the quality of workmanship and easy living aspect of a townhouse.”
While there’s been ongoing interest from prospective buyers, a few units are still available at present.
“But once the exteriors are complete and we get a few ‘For Sale’ signs up, I’m sure we’ll see more action fairly soon,” Smart said.
As for future development here, the Thunder Bay-based contractor is looking at a few options right now.
In fact, residents could see another ground-breaking this summer, Smart hinted.
