Hospital auxiliary tea looking for support

The Emo and District Hospital Auxiliary will be holding its annual fall tea, bazaar, and bake sale on Friday, Oct. 12 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Emo Legion.
Donations of baking and other items would be appreciated.
Admission will be $5 at the door and there will be draws, a white elephant table, and crafts.
Please help the auxiliary by attending. Its members appreciate the continue support of everyone across the district.

The Emo and District Lions Club will be holding its annual “Hunters Night/Wild Meat and Fish Dinner” on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Barwick Hall.
Happy hour is at 5:30 p.m., with the dinner to follow at 6:30.
There also will be a gun raffle, live auction, 50/50 raffle, penny table, door prize, and pie roulette.
Tickets cost $20 each, which are available from club members, businesses across the district, or by contacting Kent Ogden (276-1946) or Joanne Ogden (271-0931).
Proceeds will go to community projects across the district.

The Township of Emo is looking for volunteers to sit on the arena building committee.
This is a new committee that will be planning for future building renovations to make the arena more efficient and user-friendly.
For more information about the committee or if you are interested in becoming a member, contact the Emo municipal office.

The second-annual “Run for the Donut” is planned and ready to go!
Set for Saturday, Oct. 20 and hosted by the Rainy River Running Club, the Municipality of Emo, and the “Run for the Donut” committee, you are invited to run or walk the scenic 5K course at Lions Park in Emo and enjoy donuts and prizes at the finish line!
Registration forms are available at the Emo municipal office or the CIBC branch in Emo, or e-mail
Registration is $10 to enter or $20 if you would like a commemorative T-shirt (please register by Oct. 12 if you would like a shirt to ensure you get your preferred size).
Then be sure to mark Oct. 20 on your calendar and plan on participating in this year’s “Run for the Donut.”
