The first meeting of the season for the Laverendrye General Hospital Auxiliary Executive was held on September 1 2020 at the Lions Park pavilion with 11 members present.
The new executive was sworn in and the gavel was passed to Linda Booth, the new President.
There are some vacancies including Vice President, Foundation Representative, Treasurer and a Chairperson for the Nominating Committee.
There was a general discussion regarding some of the services that the Auxiliary offers, with an in depth discussion regarding the shop.
A survey was held to ascertain the number of workers who would be willing to work in the shop. The results showed that 13 members would be willing to work if the shop were to reopen. The money counters have declined to work at this time. There is also a concern about facilities to hold executive meetings in the future.
It was decided that President Linda Booth would write a letter to Foundation Director Alison Cox expressing our concerns regarding these items and seeking clarification.
We are unable to hold either the regular luncheons or the Fall Tea at this time.
There has been no fundraising to date.
Past President Judy Webster along with Marnie Cummings and Linda Plumridge formed the Bursary Committee. 2019/2020 bursary winners were Angeline Redford and Tayah Badiuk.
