A home on the 900 block of Smith Avenue was destroyed by fire early Saturday morning.
The Fort Frances Fire and Rescue Service responded at 6:26 a.m. to find the structure “fully involved.”
That means fire, heat, and smoke are so widespread that internal access must wait until firefighters can use hoses to apply water to the blaze.
“It was a total loss,” said Fire Chief Frank Sheppard.
There also was secondary damage to a house south of the residence.
The occupants had been in the house at the time but got out safely.
The fire has been deemed accidental.
