Highway closed for 14 hours

A portion of Highway 11 near Emo did not re-open until 2 a.m. on Saturday after a fuel truck overturned shortly before noon on Friday.
Emo OPP said the accident occurred when an eastbound tractor-trailer unit hauling gasoline and diesel fuel tried to pass a road-painting vehicle on the south gravel shoulder about two km east of Emo.
The portion of the gravel shoulder collapsed, causing the fuel truck to roll over into the ditch—coming to rest on its side.
The driver of the fuel truck did not sustain any injuries, police reported.
Traffic was re-routed via Emo Road and Cooper Road while the over-turned fuel truck was unloaded and removed from the scene.
The fuel tank remained intact during the collision, police said.
The OPP has concluded the investigation with no charges being laid.
