Retired high school teacher Jack Hedman, who recently published a book entitled, “The Gift of Gab: A Collection of Recollections,” will hold a book-signing this Saturday (June 16) from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Northwoods Gallery & Gifts here.
The book features three tall tales as told by the late bus driver Sid Asselin, who passed away in 2002.
Hedman noted it’s not a children’s book, but rather a tool for parents and grandparents to use to get some ideas of the tales they can share with the youngsters in their lives.
It also is a method of preserving these stories for future generations.
Hedman hopes his book will inspire people to write down their own stories, or that they will feel compelled to share their stories with him so that he can write another collection.
“The Gift of Gab” will be available during Saturday’s book-signing for $16.
The book, which is self-published through Trafford Publishing, also is available at www.trafford.com for $21.88 (U.S.)
