Healing ceremony planned here

In response to the controversial situation stemming from an Internet-posted video disrespecting the traditional pow-wow, Couchiching First Nation will host a healing ceremony tomorrow morning at its multi-use facility.
Organizers said they feel “it is crucial that we begin to heal as one large community.”
The ceremony is open to non-native and native people from Fort Frances and surrounding areas, as well as the area First Nation communities.
“We encourage you to come and join in this ceremony with an open mind and forgiving heart,” the invitation stated.
The ceremony will begin around 9:30 a.m.
Since it will be a traditional healing ceremony, attendees are asked to bring a gift of offering.
Communities are asked to take it upon themselves to make sure their elders are able to participate by providing transportation to the ceremony.
A feast will be held to end the day. Donations of food are greatly appreciated.
