Harvest supper big hit

Robin McCormick
Devlin correspondent

The annual harvest supper hosted by Guthrie United Church on Sunday was another huge success.
More than 300 people from across the district attended.
A delicious meal was served and much socializing took place.
The Guthrie congregation would like to thank all the people who cook, donate, help set up, do the dishes, and everything else it takes to make this a success each year.

Sympathy to the family and friends of Sid (Sidney) Darrah who passed away last week.
Sid had an infectious laugh and certainly one I’ll never forget. However, when visiting with the Darrah family, I was told his siblings share the same laugh.
Sid always had a “hello” for everyone.
He will be greatly missed by his two sons, his mother, and the family.
Sincere sympathy, as well, to the family and friends of Greg Herrmann, who passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning.
Greg always shared a “hello” with everyone and was a kind-hearted spirit who loved his family, friends, and motorcycles.
The community and district is thinking of both families at this sad time.

Robin’s 2¢:
Happy Thanksgiving to all! Here’s my wish for you:
May your stuffing be tasty.
May your turkey plump.
May your potatoes and gravy have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious and your pie take the prize.
And may your Thanksgiving dinner stay off your thighs.
