Group addresses seniors’ concerns

Press Release

Did you know that more than 18.9 percent of the Fort Frances population is aged 65 years and older?
Did you also know that contrary to popular belief, a majority of those seniors remain active and are involved in many aspects of our community, especially in the area of volunteerism?
What has been evident, in recent years, is that seniors face many unique situations that affect their well-being and safety.
To address these situations, a new group has been formed, in conjunction with the OPP, called “Seniors and Law Enforcement Together” (S.A.L.T.)
This new group invites any interested seniors to attend their meetings, which are held on the last Tuesday of each month at 11 a.m. at the Super 8 Motel (lunch is provided).
If interested, just turn up at the next meeting on March 29, or contact OPP Cst. Anne McCoy (276-0010) or Becky Holden at the Northwestern Health Unit (274-9827).
Together we can make a difference!
