Good Friday breakfast tickets on sale

Although Good Friday isn’t until April 6, those who plan on attending the Kiwanis’ annual breakfast that morning had better get their tickets as soon as possible.
Tickets, which went on sale this week, are available at Drs. Lidkea, Elliott and Lidkea’s office or from any Kiwanian for $8 each.
This year’s breakfast will start at 8 a.m. at La Place Rendez-Vous.
“Make sure you get your tickets quickly as they are usually gone very fast,” noted Pastor Sandy McEvoy, who is organizing this year’s Good Friday breakfast.
She noted the event began here back in 1994 by Kiwanis past governor Ken Koprowski.
“The Good Friday breakfast has become a big community event involving the churches throughout our community,” Pastor McEvoy said. “The purpose was to celebrate Good Friday in a spirit of unity.
“There is always a speaker from one of the churches and wonderful music.”
This year, the guest speaker will Jeff Plett, while Steve Tucker and family from Wrenshall, Mn. will provide the music.
In related news, Pastor McEvoy noted the Kiwanis Club always is looking for new members.
Anyone wanting to join is welcome to come to the club’s weekly meetings, which are held every Thursday at noon at the Rendez-Vous.
