The third-annual Tim Perreault Memorial golf tournament at Heron Landing on Couchiching went off without a hitch Saturday, drawing a full slate of 22 teams.
The foursome of Maurice Fillion, Andrew Easton, Mel Larson, and Earl Klyne took first place in a playoff over Randy Allan, Dwayne Morrison, Ken Morrison, and Ernie Morrison.
But the big winner was the Tim Perreault Charitable Foundation, which raised $7,000 through the tournament.
Pauline Perreault, Tim’s mother, said the event was a success yet again, with three more teams and more money raised compared to last year’s tournament.
She also hopes to participate in more fundraising events for her son’s charity after he died of chronic pancreatitis in 2005 at the age of 31.
“We’re going to try and have a draw around Christmas now that we have our charitable licence,” Perreault noted. “We should be able to get a permit from the Town of Fort Frances to have raffles now.
“We tried it the first year but weren’t allowed to have ticket sales in the town, so now we should have no problems,” she added.
