Patrons of Boston Pizza were treated to dinner and a show last Thursday evening when the local restaurant hosted a “Go Local” spring fashion show.
A group of 16 women, men, boys, and girls modelled clothes available at Betty’s, McTaggarts, and Taggs Source for Sports here as Dexter Fichuk announced who was wearing what from which store.
The models included Marina Jewell, Jessica Taggart, Hailey George, Stevie-Lee Langford, Ericka Tymkin, Tanner Bell, Peter Garvie, Jim Luchka, Cheryl Armstrong, Ann Anderson, and Neila Booth.
Children who modelled included Hayden Beckett, Morgan Beckett, Maya Davis, Jack Davis, and Lyla Moen.
As well, Northwoods Gallery & Gifts displayed baby wear while Canadian Tire displayed patio furniture.
And Hammond Landscaping Ltd. provided some pots and hanging baskets.
The event had been opened up to all “Go Local” participating merchants.
“I felt that it went very well considering it was a first-time event,” said Faith Moen, community relations co-ordinator for Boston Pizza here.
“Everyone seemed to enjoy the evening and the stores seemed happy with the results,” she added.
“The models were great to work with and I think they did a fantastic job!” enthused Moen.
“We would like to thank everyone who made this event a success.”
The fashion show was well-attended. About 50 people had reserved tables prior to the show, and other walk-in traffic also took seats to check out the fashions as they dined.
“Go Local” rep Jennifer Horton also was on hand to inform people about the program, as well as sign people up with “Go Local” rewards cards.
“It was great to see the community support this kind of event, and bring more exposure to the ‘Go Local’ program,” noted Horton.
She added it was encouraging to see the “Go Local” merchants partner up for the fashion show.
Horton said hopefully there will be more such events in the future based around the “Go Local” initiative.
