Some students were granted a little longer Christmas holiday after J.W. Walker School was closed for today due to mechanical issues.
“We have sporadic heat, I guess is what you would say,” Raymond Roy, the public school board’s manager of plant operations and maintenance, said this morning.
“So we’re just investigating it and trying to figure it out,” he added.
The problem was first discovered on the weekend, he noted, but as of this morning they still weren’t sure what exactly it is.
But students hoping for another day off tomorrow will be disappointed.
“We’re certainly anticipating that we’ll have everything back to normal today, that’s our goal,” Roy said.
“And we’re not going to quit until we get everything figured out,” he stressed.
