‘Friends’ to hold bake sale

In response to popular demand, the Friends of the Fort Frances Public Library will be extending the hours of its ninth-annual Valentine bake sale this year.
The “Love Your Library Bake Sale” will be held Friday, Feb. 11 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the library. Don’t miss the best baking in town!
You also will have a chance to enter to win the “Pot of Gold” (100 loonies) during the bake sale.
Then at 4 p.m. that day will be the draw for this year’s raffle, “Choose Your Own Adventure,” featuring a grand prize of $1,500 and a second prize of $500.
Tickets cost $5 each, which are available at the library, from committee members, or from sellers at Safeway, Pharmasave, and Wal-Mart.
Proceeds from the draw will be used for projects to improve our library.
The Friends of the Library help to improve the library by organizing and conducting fundraising activities, purchasing new equipment and furniture, computer coaching, library community activities, or helping to deliver books to shut-ins.
They hold their monthly meeting at the library at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month. The next meeting is scheduled for Feb. 17.
Anyone interested is welcome to attend the meetings.
Volunteers who would like to be called for baking, ticket sales, and other activities also can sign up the front desk of the library.
