The “Friends of the Fort Frances Public Library” would like to say thank you by hosting its second-annual appreciation tea this Friday (Oct. 27) from 1:30-3 p.m.
There is no cost to attend and the “Friends” will be on hand to serve you tea/coffee and cookies, as well as answer any questions.
The “Friends,” thanks to the continued support of local residents and businesses, have had another successful year of fundraising activities which have allowed us to continue providing the library with “extras.”
Our continued mission—“To help our library be the best it can be”—happens because of our amazing community support.
Wondering if you would like to become a “Friend”? A membership will cost you a toonie.
There are different ways to support the “Friends.” Some of our members make a monetary donation only while others volunteer their time during our many fundraising activities.
Members also get involved by helping with the shut-in delivery service, computer tutoring, baking, or becoming a committee member and assisting with planning and organizing our fun-filled yearly events.
But remember the “Friends of the Library” are not considered staff nor do librarians’ work. They are not members of the library board who make management decisions concerning the building, staff, or programs.
Rather, the “Friends of the Library” are an independent set of volunteers whose goal it is to give our library those little extra comforts not available through grants or regular library funding.
The “Friends” have monthly meetings and there is always room for more volunteers.
Hope to see you all at the appreciation tea this Friday from 1:30-3 p.m.!
