Freedom Ride set for Saturday

The Northern Therapeutic Riding Association (NORTRA) is holding its eigth-annual Freedom Ride 2003 on Saturday and time is running out to get those pledges in.
Twenty-two riders have signed up for this year’s ride, which will help fund riding therapy for physically and mentally-challenged adults and children in the Rainy River district.
NORTRA is run by Joyce Young, the owner and operator of Trails End Riding Stables north of Devlin, and is dedicated to helping physically-challenged children free themselves of their limitation and experience and experience control over four sturdy legs beneath them.
Riding begins at 9 a.m., to be followed by lunch and and an afternoon of fun activities, involving children, horses and various other pets.
Donations will be accepted until tomorrow (Thursday) and can be made by contacting Joyce Young at 486-3378, Tammi’s Flower Garden at 274-8581 or Carol Kliner at 274-9227.
To reach Trails End Riding Stables, simply take Highway 613 north from Devlin, about five miles to Clark Road, and turn left. Follow that all the way to the dead end and turn right. The farm is just north of there.
Most proceeds from the Freedom Ride will be used to fund riding therapy and classes for disabled children and adults.
