Four new fires reported

Four new fires were reported in the West Fire Region yesterday.
All four occurred in northern sections of the region, where sunny, dry weather resulted in a rapid rise of the forest fire hazard.
Red Lake District recorded two fires while FireRangers from the Sioux Lookout and Greenstone fire management headquarters responded to one blaze each.
In other news, two Ontario CL-415 heavy waterbombers, one bird dog aircraft, and two air attack officers are assisting with fire suppression operations in Manitoba.
The aircraft and staff departed from bases in the West Fire Region yesterday and will be stationed in The Pas.
Residents are reminded that, under the Forest Fires Prevention Act of Ontario, day burning of brush or grass is not allowed.
You may start a fire no sooner than two hours before sunset and it must be put it out no later than two hours after sunrise.
Choose a safe site, keep your fire small and never leave it unattended, and remember to ensure the fire is put dead out before leaving.
