Four fires reported

One new fire was reported yesterday in the West Fire Region, bringing the weekend total to four.
The most recent was Dryden Fire #30, a 0.1-hectare blaze currently classified as “not under control.”
The other new blazes, which were reported Saturday, included two in Sioux Lookout District and one in Red Lake District.
The two Sioux Lookout fires are being monitored.
Red Lake Fire #42, meanwhile, has a FireRanger crew on it and reports are they’re making good progress on the fire, with no problems anticipated.
An aerial reconnaissance and fire assessment over Sioux Lookout Fire #63, a 300-hectare blaze first reported Thursday about 40 km northeast of Sachigo Lake, determined the fire will be monitored as it is not threatening any values and it will help regenerate the area as a natural process.
There currently are 11 active fires in the region, covering 865.8 ha.
There have been 318 fires to date, consuming 9307.6 ha in total.
