Four charged in drug bust

Drug Enforcement Unit Officers attended the 300 block of Cameron Street in Thunder Bay on Tuesday where they arrested Elias Ganth outside of a residence for driving while disqualified.
At the time of his arrest, Ganth was found to be in possession of approximately half a pound of marihuana.
Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of three other individuals and the execution of a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at the residence where Ganth was originally arrested.
Officers seized approximately seven pounds of marihuana along with $195 Cdn.
The total street value on the drugs seized is approximately $71,000.
Charged were:
•Elias Ganth, 50, of Thunder Bay with possession of marihuana for the purposes of trafficking, drive motor vehicle while disqualified, and breach of recognizance;
•Candice Ganth, 49, of Thunder Bay with possession of marihuana for the purposes of trafficking;
•David Ganth, 21, of Thunder Bay with possession of marihuana for the purposes of trafficking; and
•Elizabeth Ganth, 24, of Thunder Bay with possession of marihuana for the purposes of trafficking.
Elias Ganth was remanded into custody and will have a bail hearing on Nov. 10, 2010. Candice, David, and Elizabeth Ganth were released and will appear in Thunder Bay court on Dec. 29, 2010.
