Yesterday around 5:50 p.m., the Rainy River District OPP responded to a call for service at the Lakeview Trailer Park here regarding a missing youth.
Then just after 6:10 p.m., officers received a second call from family members concerned the male youth had a firearm in his possession.
Members of the Fort Frances OPP detachment, assisted by the North West Region Emergency Response Team, secured the trailer park.
At 6:48 p.m., the male youth was located by OPP at a residence in the trailer park and taken into police custody without incident.
Investigation has determined the 14-year-old male from Fort Frances had pointed and discharged a firearm at a family member.
There were no injuries as a result of the firearm being discharged.
The teen subsequently has been charged with attempted murder while using a firearm, use of firearm while committing an offence, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
