Fort Frances GM is partnering with the Out of the Cold Centre, to collect much-needed items through a collection drive, December 17.
“We are firm believers in community support and partnership,” said Fort Frances GM in a Facebook post. “The Fort Frances Out of the Cold program offers a safe, warm place for our homelessness residents to get out of the cold during the winter. Help us support this life changing resource this December!”
On December 17, Fort Frances GM staff we will be hosting a day of driving around the Fort Frances area, picking up all donations left at the end of driveways, maintaining a safe, contactless pick up.
Here is list of much needed items that could help immensely:
(Keep in mind they must be new items, not pre-owned)
Hats/Mitts/Coats
Underwear/ Socks/ Face masks
Juice and Juice boxes
Granola bars/ Breakfast Cereal
Coffee/ Water bottles
Toothbrushes/Toothpaste
Combs/Brushes
Sweatpants/ T-shirts (both genders and variety of sizes)
Laundry soap and fabric sheets
Canned meat/ Canned vegetables and fruits
Shampoo/Conditioner/Soap/Deodorants
They cannot collect:
Blankets/Pillows/Sheets
Hand sanitizer/ Disinfectant products
Pre-owned items
To participate, call Fort Frances GM at 274-5321 and provide your address, before December 17, if you will have a box/bag of donations to be picked up by the team.
