Folk singer takes stage tonight

Armed with a violin, guitar, banjo, and mandolin, folk artist J.P. Cormier will take to the stage at the Townshend Theatre tonight as part of the “tour de Fort” concert series.
A reminder the 7:30 p.m. show is sold out to passport holders.
“J.P. Cormier is a master of all strings,” said tour de Fort vice-president Wanda Botsford. “He is an incredibly talented musician, as well as a great songwriter and storyteller.”
“J.P. is a giant in stature, with the heart of a poet and the soul of a traveller,” echoed Jim Avis, director of programming for tour de Fort. “He is a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist who has won many awards.
“Cormier is an incredible player and will be an instant hit with our tour de Fort audience,” Avis added.
