Floats sought for July 1 parade

With July 1 only a little over two weeks away, “Fun in the Sun” organizers are looking to make this year’s Canada Day parade better than ever.
“We’re always trying to make the parade bigger,” parade co-ordinator Dawn Booth said this morning.
“We want to encourage businesses and service clubs to get involved,” she added, noting individuals also are welcome to enter a float.
This year’s theme is “Proud to be Canadian,” and prizes will be awarded to the best overall float, best theme float, and best individual float.
“The theme isn’t to hard to work with. Some red, some white, and there you go,” remarked Booth.
Starting at 11 a.m., the parade once again will commence from the Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau (old CN station) and proceed down Scott Street to the Memorial Sports Centre.
If you would like to enter a float or participate in any way, call Booth at 274-5773.
