Tickets are still available for Wednesday night’s public appearance by former NHL star Theoren Fleury at the Townshend Theatre at 6:30 p.m.
Fleury, 41, is slated to present “Don’t Quit Before the Miracle,” which addresses his tumultuous life off the ice, including drug and alcohol abuse, throughout his career.
Complimentary tickets are available at Betty’s, or by calling Shauna-Leigh Carlson (274-3131) or Brent Tookenay (274-9857).
Fleury, a Stanley Cup champion with the Calgary Flames in 1989 and an Olympic gold-medallist in 2002, will hold a book-signing and autograph session after his speech.
Fleury, who has stayed sober since 2005, also is in town to speak to Rainy River District School Board students tomorrow and Wednesday at Fort High.
He then will be in Atikokan on Thursday.
