Four new fires were confirmed in the Northwest Region yesterday.
By the end of the day Wednesday, eight new fires were confirmed while 11 fires were declared “out.”
None of these new fires were in Fort Frances District, which has only one active fire—Fire #53—at this time.
This 2.0-hectare blaze, first reported Sunday, continues to be monitored in Quetico Provincial Park.
Currently, no fires are posing any threat to people or property.
The new fires from the last few days were detected while still small and manageable in size.
