Oct. 7-13 is “Fire Prevention Week” and the Fort Frances Fire and Rescue Service will be busy promoting safety once again.
Firefighters will be visiting Robert Moore School on Tuesday, followed by J.W. Walker on Wednesday. On Thursday, they’ll stop at St. Michael’s for the day while Friday they’ll be at St. Francis.
Because of Thanksgiving cutting next week a little short, the school visits will continue with stops at St. Michael’s and Fort Frances Day Care on Monday, Oct. 15 and Robert Moore again on Wednesday, Oct. 17.
And once again this year, the fire department will be at Canadian Tire on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. with fire trucks and fire prevention displays and handouts.
The public is highly-encouraged to drop by.
There also will be a draw for great prizes, including a mountain bike and helmet supplied by Canadian Tire and sponsored by the “RiskWatch” coalition, as well as fire safety prize packs (smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, etc.) supplied by the Fort Frances Fire Department.
