A Manitoba resident has been convicted of failing to properly dispose of household garbage and construction material.
Jeffrey Allan, 47, of Ile des Chenes, was fined $750 and ordered to clean up the site on Crown land where he had dumped his trash.
Court heard that on Nov. 4, a conservation officer discovered garbage near the Trans-Canada Highway, adjacent to the Manitoba border.
A subsequent investigation revealed Allan had completed a construction project on his cottage at a nearby lake. He then dumped his waste material on Crown land instead of at an approved waste disposal site.
